First Methodist Church Parsonage

First Methodist Church Parsonage

The Methodist parsonage was completed in August 1917. Rev. George S. Frazier had come earlier that year and led the drive for a new home. The old parsonage was on Water Street. The new parsonage was put next door to the new Methodist Church which had opened in 1910. The house was constructed by W.E. A Wallace and the Elberton Brick Company for $5000. Rev. Frazier was instrumental in organizing the first Methodist Men’s Club in the history of the denomination in January of 1918. In 1917 church membership was 380 with Sunday School attendance of 175.
The current residents of the parsonage are Dr. Doug Parsons and his wife Sindy.
